Have you ever had a chance to experience (once again) to learn to walk again? I was not injured, nor was I presented with some illnesses but I had an interesting experience recently.
I recently strolled on one of the trails in Peak District, UK. This is one of the trek paths I took months ago when I felt comfortable breathing and walking. This day’s episode was certainly unique in many ways. The path was ‘slick’ and slippery because of some constant yet subtle drizzling, making breathing difficult, let alone walking. On a different (yet related) note, I am fond of white sneakers, especially the ones that make me feel confident. I feel it goes well with formal and casual occasions, making it my go-to choice for any quick plans. Well, put together a trek on a rainy day with a pair of white shoes. That’s 50 quid down the drain or lost in the mire to be appropriate to this context.

Well, that is not something to write about. People have had similar experiences, and not many felt the need to write about it. But here, I have to tell you that the shoe’s outsole accumulated with mud, making it lose traction and causing increased slipperiness. To give some more context to this episode, this is just half the episode. I still had to walk back downhill. This is when things got interesting.

I had to learn to adapt and, more importantly, reach home with no injuries. I was making conservative steps, making me look like a giant taking baby strides. But the journey back made me enjoy the process of re-learning. In a much more philosophical sense, I had to choose one of many paths when I was not in complete control of myself walking, making way for people walking onwards and returning (who, by the way, were in complete control of their bodies and somewhere even jogging their way up) not to mention trade-off of moving fast and reaching safely. This episode helped me re-live all my experiences and remember all the decisions I had taken that helped me reach the point.
But if I were to summarise this episode, the moment on top of the cliff would be appealing.

But the episode would not have been drafted had the journey not been cherished. I would go back to visit and try to retrace the path, but not on a rainy day.
